1/ Format columns before entering or pasting data

If you want Excel to not automatically jump dates when you enter data. First, format the column/row before entering the number.

Step 1 : The user clicks on the column or cell where you need to enter numeric data > Click on the Home tab .
B2 : Click the arrow next to the format line > Select Text > Then, you enter numeric data as usual, Excel will not automatically jump to the date. Besides, in the data entry box you can also press Ctrl + 1 > Select the format you need and then press OK to finish.

2/ Turn off automatic date jumping in Excel

If you do not want Excel to enter numbers into dates, you can do the following to turn off this feature. Note, there is no solution to completely disable date jumping in Excel. The tip below will apply to a few cells if you need to enter not too many numbers. If you import in bulk, you can apply the above method!

Create a space before entering data. Note, you need to make sure that when you press Enter, this space still exists.
Please add an apostrophe (') before entering data. For example '11-323 or '1/47. Don't worry because after you press Enter, this apostrophe will disappear and will not affect your document.
Zero and a space before you enter For a fraction such as 1/2 or ¾. If you want to avoid changing it to January 2 or March 4, type 0 and a space before entering the data. Type 0 1/2 or 0 3/4. After clicking Enter, the 0 will be lost and the number in the cell will become a decimal number.
